📖 About This Attraction

Extraordinary cluster of 15th-century Sultanate brick mosques, including Satgachhia Mosque, Gorar Mosque, and ancient excavated royal water reservoirs.

Believed to be the lost medieval Sultanate city of Muhammadabad, Barobazar in Kaliganj contains an astonishing concentration of 15th-century brick archaeological monuments excavated by the Department of Archaeology. Sites include the 35-domed Satgachhia Mosque, Gorar Mosque, Shukur Mallik Mosque, and the ancient Golakata Mosque, all exhibiting fine terracotta floral bas-reliefs.
