Spectacular gilded Theravada Buddhist temple crowned atop a hill, housing the second-largest Buddha statue in Bangladesh and sacred Buddha relics.
Perched on Pulpara Hill 4 km from Bandarban town, Buddha Dhatu Jadi (commonly known as the Golden Temple) was completed in 2000. Built in traditional Arakanese Buddhist architectural style with pure gold-leaf finish on the towering stupa, it houses the sacred Dhatu (relic of Gautama Buddha) presented by Myanmar. The temple features ornamental bells, dragon balustrades, and a serene bell pond.
