Historic 200-year-old prayer ground along the Narasunda River hosting South Asia’s largest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation with over 300,000 devotees.
Established in 1828 by Dewan Syed Ahmed, Sholakia Eidgah Maidan gained fame when 125,000 worshippers gathered for prayers, earning it the name "Shoa-Lakhi" (one and a quarter lakh), which later morphed into Sholakia. Spanning 7 acres, it features 265 rows where 300,000 to 400,000 Muslim worshippers gather every Eid morning, announced by ritual cannon shots.
