The largest multi-purpose irrigation barrage in Bangladesh spanning 615 meters across the Teesta River with 44 massive hydraulic gates and sunset promenades.
Constructed in 1990 in Dalia under Dimla upazila, the Teesta Barrage controls water for 5.4 lakh hectares of farmland in northern Bangladesh. The 615-meter barrage creates a gigantic reservoir lake that offers picturesque speed-boat rides, scenic river dyke walking trails, fresh river fish frying stalls, and views across the sandbars toward India.
