📖 About This Attraction

The largest and most influential Theravada Buddhist monastery in Bangladesh, spiritual seat of the revered saint Ven. Sadhanananda Mahathera (Bana Bhante).

Spanning 33 acres of forested hill land adjoining the Chakma Royal Palace, Rajbana Vihara was founded in 1974 for meditation master Ven. Bana Bhante. The serene monastic complex houses a golden pagoda, prayer halls with giant marble statues of Lord Buddha, residence quarters for hundreds of monks, and Bana Bhante's preserved body in a glass pavilion.
